Privacy

Minerva is a small pilot project, so this page describes what the system actually does today rather than reserving every right a longer document would. If something here is unclear, ask before signing up.

What is stored

• Your sign-in identity, handled by Clerk. Minerva keeps a row linking that identity to a role you pick once, either teacher or student.
• Which lessons you have completed, so your constellation knows what to unlock.
• Which lessons you have opened and when you last opened them, so the dashboard can point you back at where you left off.
• Your conversations with the tutor, so the chat is still there when you come back.
• Your practice attempts and whether they were correct, which is what lets the review queue resurface skills you got wrong.
• If you join a class, the fact that you are enrolled in it.
• If you vote on what Minerva should build next, which option you picked. One row per account, replaced if you change your vote.
• If you use that card's last slide to write in your own answer, the line you typed. It is capped at 140 characters, it is stored against your account, and it is shown back only to you — other students see the number of write-in votes, never anyone's words. Change your vote to a listed option and the line is deleted. This is the only place on Minerva that keeps something you wrote for us to read, apart from your tutor conversations.

Who else sees it

Tutor messages are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a reply, and sign-in is handled by Clerk. Page views are counted by Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it sets no identifier and stores nothing in your browser, so it cannot recognise you on a second visit or follow you to another site. What it records is which page was opened, from roughly where, on what kind of device — never who. Those are the three external services that touch your data. Nothing is sold, and nothing here builds a profile of you or is used for advertising.

Teachers and classes

Joining a class links your account to that class. Teacher-facing views of student work are not built yet; when they are, this page will say exactly what a teacher can see before the feature ships.

Deleting your data

You can clear your tutor conversation from inside the app at any time. For full account deletion during the pilot, email the address on the sign-in page and it will be done by hand.

Children

Minerva is aimed at high school coursework. If you are under 13, please have a parent or teacher set this up with you.
